The First Bank of Springfield is a major bank offering credit, debit and savings accounts as well as loans and mortgages to the people of Springfield. It is the bank Homer and Marge go to.

History

After Homer invested a large amount of money in pumpkins, expecting their value to continue increasing after the end of October, he's informed by a financial adviser that unfortunately he needed to sell before Halloween and his investment was now worthless.[1]

Under instruction from Marge, Bart opens a savings account with his inheritance after the death of Aunt Hortense. In pursuit of Krusty the Clown's autograph, Bart gives the TV personality a small check for him to sign. Bart complains to the bank about the stamp of an offshore holding company used instead. The bank teller takes notice and reports it to the IRS, who discover Krusty has been hiding his income in an offshore account and take legal action.[2]

Homer goes to the First Bank of Springfield to invest the family's life savings in Animotion.[3]

The bank was once robbed when Marge was inside, queuing with others. One of the robbers, Gary, escaped, while the other, Dwight Diddlehopper, got out by himself to the police and was put under arrest, only if Marge visited him, although she never did.[4]

Homer is walking to the bank while eating a candy apple. When he arrives at the bank, he observes the "No food or drinks" sign outside and attempts to sneak the candy apple inside the bank, but is mistaken for a bank robber in the process. Afterwards, Homer is then sentenced to community service.[5]
