"The Shell Game" is the thirty-first Simpsonsshort. It originally aired on The Tracey Ullman Show on November 13, 1988.
Plot
In the kitchen, Bart tries to reach for a cookie from the cookie jar, but Marge stops him and tells him that the jar is off limits, though Bart doesn't care. Homer comes in and gives Bart a point by telling Bart to "lay off those cookies." After they leave, Bart takes out every cookie from the jar, but Lisa tries to tattle on him, causing him to quickly put them all back in the jar. However, he realizes that he missed one and panics before placing a bowl on top of it before Homer and Marge return. They tell him to lift up the bowl, but Bart ends up making it a shell game by placing two more bowls to the sides of it and shuffling them. After two guesses, Bart tricks Homer and Marge by telling them to look behind them and shuffling the bowls while they aren't looking, causing them to lose the game, declare him innocent, and leave. After Bart closes the door, Maggie winds up playing the game with Bart. It turns out that the cookie isn't under any of the bowls and is instead in Maggie's mouth. Maggie eats the cookie shortly after.
